Enjoy These 4 Country Experiences in Wyoming

The frontier life is alive and well in Wyoming. In Cheyenne and across the state, you can find plenty of places where city slickers can experience the life of a cowboy, whether it's by visiting a museum or getting more hands-on experience at a Wyoming dude ranch. If you want to know what the state was like back when it was just a territory, head over to one of these Wyoming attractions. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty! more Frontier Days Old West Museum If you're in Cheyenne, stop by the Frontier Days Old West Museum on Carey Avenue. Frontier Days has been an annual event in Cheyenne since 1897, and in 1978, the locals opened a museum documenting the history of the event and exhibiting artifacts that date back to the Old West period of Wyoming's history. Today, the museum has one of the biggest collections of authentic horse-drawn carriages in the country, and they regularly display exhibits of folk and Native American art. Vee Bar Guest Ranch You'll find the Vee Bar Guest Ranch on Snowy Range Road. At Vee Bar, guests can assimilate to ranch life as much or as little as they like, and the ranch's horseback riding trails have options for every skill level. Guests can also try their hand at fly fishing, hiking, trap shooting, or herding cattle. The ranch's cabins offer a lovely view of the Little Laramie River, and they serve an old-fashioned buffet three times a day. Nelson Museum of the West The Nelson Museum of the West is another Cheyenne attraction. Located on Carey Avenue between 17th and 18th streets, this museum focuses more on the history of the West as a whole rather than the history of Frontier Days, and they display the broad spectrum of cultures brought to the American West by settlers, American Indians, and Mexican charros. They also have a section devoted to American military history throughout every time period. A Bar A Ranch A Bar A Ranch is tucked away on the west side of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest along the North Platte River. With over 100,000 private acres and a national forest to explore, the ranch is one of the oldest and biggest guest ranches in the country. You can participate in classic dude ranch activities like horseback riding and fly fishing, but the ranch also offers tennis, golf, a heated swimming pool, and skeet shooting. Even their meals are gourmet creations inspired by Western frontier cooking. In Wyoming, you can experience as much or as little of the Wild West as you like. You can see authentic artifacts in a museum, practice your horse riding skills at a guest ranch, or act out your cowboy fantasy at one of the many ranches that still herd cattle through the high plains. If you're fascinated with the Old West or if you're a city slicker who wants to try something new, plan your trip to Wheatland, Wyoming, today! Image via Pixabay

5 Tips to Prepare Your Vehicle for Spring

Before you know it, the snow will start to melt, the flowers will begin to bloom, and spring will be here. Along with nicer weather, this change in season also brings the need to prepare your car for a different set of challenges. To make sure you're ready, consider these important tips to get your vehicle all set for spring. more Check Your Wiper Blades Although April showers will bring May flowers, they also bring difficult driving conditions. During winter, snow and ice can damage your wipers and cause them to leave streaks on your windshield. Since you depend on your windshield wipers to help you see during those spring rainstorms, it's important to check them and replace them if they show signs of wear and tear. This is also a good time to top off your windshield wiper fluid tank and apply a windshield treatment to repel water. Inspect Your Tires Between the cold air and potholes, your tires go through a lot during winter. If you swapped out your all-season tires for snow tires before winter started, you want to make sure change them back at the start of spring. If you didn't swap your tires, now is a good time to test the air pressure, inspect the tread, and check your alignment. Rough winter roads can also take a toll on your brakes, so spring is an ideal time to have your brakes checked if they're making unusual noises. Wash off the Salt You spring clean your house; now don't forget to spring clean your car as well! The salt from the road can severely damage your vehicle's paint and even cause rust and other damage to the underside of your vehicle. In the beginning of spring, make sure you wash your car to clean away all that salt and dirt. Don't forget to vacuum and wash the floor mats and upholstery inside your car, since salt can also damage them. Check the Coolant Levels Now that the weather is getting warm, it's a good idea to check your vehicle's coolant level to make sure your engine runs at the right temperature. Although every car is different, the coolant tank on most vehicles is a small, clear bottle near the engine. On the outside of the tank, you'll see marks indicating the maximum and minimum level of the coolant. If your coolant level is near or below the minimum line, you can take your vehicle to the service department at your dealership to have more added. Test the Battery Those cold morning starts during winter are not easy on your battery. Once spring rolls around, take your vehicle in for a battery check to see how strong it is. If the battery is weak, you can prevent being stranded because of a dead battery by getting it replaced now. Now that the cold days of winter are on their way out, make sure your vehicle is ready for spring by taking care of these important tasks.

Car Stereo

How to Get the Most Out of Your Car Stereo

Your car's sound system can be surprisingly important. Depending on your commute and how many errands you run, you may spend a few minutes or a few hours in your car every single day, and when traffic has slowed to a crawl, some good music or a fun podcast can really help pass the time. That's why many people optimize their vehicle's sound system. Here are the best ways to improve your listening experience. more Start with Good Audio Files Some audio tracks are better than others. Smaller files are easier to store and move, but they also compress the audio and leave out important layers and undertones. Fortunately, most audio files you get from professional sites like iTunes and Amazon come in the highest quality, but you can't always say the same about files you get from other sources. Be careful where you download your music and how you rip files from your own media if you want the best sound quality. Replace Your Speakers Speaker quality is an essential part of any car's stereo system. Different speakers can have wildly different quality levels, with one set having trouble hitting the bass notes without rattling and another set giving you such clear sound you could swear you were sitting in the audience of a live performance. However, you should research your speakers carefully since not all expensive speakers are created equal. Installing the speakers correctly is also important. A bad install can make even great speakers sound awful. Use Sound Damping Sometimes it's not the speaker's fault that the car rattles with every bass note. Sometimes it rattles because your car doesn't have enough padding to absorb the vibrations. You may also notice that your audio quality dips when you reach a high speed even if you have a system that gets louder at high speeds automatically. That's because road and engine noise tend to mask certain frequencies, especially at the low range. Adding sound-damping materials can help protect your audio from both the sound of the road and the rattles of the vehicle. Amplify It Speaker quality is one thing, but you also need a good source of power to get the most out of every watt. Installing an amplifier can take more money and effort than replacing the speakers, but a good amp can put those speakers to work and make sure you're getting the best quality out of each one. The most powerful amps can be expensive, but even a low-powered one can deliver a noticeable improvement. While it might not be important to everyone, a good audio system can make a huge difference for some drivers' daily commutes or on the long road trips they take each year. If audio quality is something you care about, there are steps you can take to make the music in your car sound crisp and perfect. Make one of these changes today, and every ride in your car will be that much more enjoyable. Image via Pixabay

leasing a vehicle

Benefits of Leasing A Vehicle

Leasing versus buying a new car can be a difficult decision. While leasing might not make sense for every driver, there are a few reasons you might consider leasing over buying. more Lower Monthly Payments You will have to make monthly payments whether you buy or lease your new car. However, you will find that the monthly payments of a lease are often lower than what you would pay for an auto loan. When paying an auto loan, the first few years of payments go toward your interest. Leases do not charge as much interest, meaning your payments are going toward the car itself.  You also have to factor in the down payment requirements. You will usually have to put down more money on a new car loan than a lease. Included Maintenance A single mechanical problem with your vehicle can cost you thousands of dollars in repairs. In the meantime, you are still required to make your monthly payments, even if you don't have a car to drive. With a lease, your maintenance is generally included. Additionally, because leases are newer cars, they are usually still covered under warranty. Driving a car with a warranty also means you get to drive something that you can rely on. Latest Technology Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of leasing a car is that you get a brand new car every few years. When you buy a car, you might have to drive it longer in order to pay down the loan. With a lease, you can trade in your car for a newer one as soon as your lease is up. You can opt for a newer model of your current car or you can change to a completely different model. This means you have access to the latest technology, safety features, and comfort amenities. Avoid the Hassle of Selling Selling your car can be a timely process. You either have to trade it into a dealership or go through the work of listing it, showing it, and then negotiating a fair price. Depending on the market, it is also possible that you will not get the full value of the car. In fact, you could end up paying off the difference if you still have an auto loan outstanding. With a lease, you can skip over the inconveniences of selling. When your lease is up, you simply drop it off at the dealership and then choose your next lease. Tax Deductions If you use your vehicle for work, then you might qualify for tax deductions with a lease. When you buy a car, you are not eligible to deduct the interest. However, when you lease a vehicle for work purposes, then you can deduct things like interest and car depreciation. Leasing a new car has many advantages over buying. Leasing can be more affordable, reliable, and offer you the perks of the latest technologies. Stop by Bob Ruwart Motors today to check our current inventory of 2019 vehicles. Image via Pixabay

Brakes

5 Vehicle Noises That Signal a Large Problem

One of the best ways that our vehicles can communicate with us when they need some attention is through the noises they make. They cannot tell you exactly when they need repair, but if you know what to listen for, you can stay on top of your car's needs. Knowing what's wrong with your vehicle before taking it in for repairs can help you prepare for the cost and interaction with the mechanic. Here are five vehicle noises that you should listen for. more Grinding in the Wheels If you're applying pressure to the brake pedal and you hear grinding, there's a good chance that your brake pads are worn down and your brakes are applying metal to metal in order to bring the car to a halt. This will quickly damage your brakes and your rotors. Sometimes your brake pads will be fine, but your calipers might be grinding against the rotors. Either way, continuing to drive without giving your brake situation some attention will certainly damage your car. Squealing When You Stop or Slow Down Brakes squealing is a classic sign that you need new pads. Try to get your pads replaced soon after the squealing begins in order to protect the rest of your braking system. Brake pads are fairly cheap to replace, but the other parts, like the rotors and calipers, will cost you more. If you keep up with regular brake pad replacement, the rest of the parts should last you a while. Rattling or Sputtering From the Exhaust Another important car noise to be aware of is rattling or sputtering that sounds like it's coming from under the car or back in the exhaust. When your exhaust system sounds louder than it should, this is a sign that you may need to patch up a corroded part of the system, reattach a disconnected pipe, or replace your muffler. Sometimes the entire system might need to be replaced, but usually, it's a smaller fix. Squealing Under the Hood If you hear a squealing noise that seems like it's coming from the engine, you might need a new serpentine belt. This is the belt that takes power from the engine to your car's multiple systems like the alternator, air-conditioning, or power steering. Ignoring this noise can lead to some serious damage, so it's best to get the belt checked and replaced if needed. Without a properly working serpentine belt, the car's engine can quickly overheat causing serious danger. Hissing Engine A hissing engine is a sign of overheating or leaking engine coolant. You might hear this sound while driving or soon after turning the car off. Either way, you'll want to check this out immediately to prevent any damage. If you open the hood of the car and see any leaking fluids or smell something sweet, there's a good chance your car is leaking antifreeze. Head into Bob Ruwart Motors next time you're looking for a new car at Bob Ruwart Motors. Our service department is well-equipped to handle any issues or questions you may have with your old car, and our sales staff will be happy to get you behind the wheel of a new model. Sell Your Car

4 Tips to Use When Selling Your Car

The goal when selling your car is to get the highest amount possible in the shortest amount of time. Keep these tips in mind as you prepare your car for sale. more Compile Your Car's History Interested car buyers will want to know the history of your car. Without documents to back up this information, it can be difficult to prove that what you're saying is true. Keeping up with routine maintenance is not as valuable if you do not have the receipts to prove it. It can also be useful to pull a copy of the vehicle history report ahead of time. Compiling all the documents regarding your car's history into a folder can help you sell your car. You will be able to answer any questions quickly, and in most cases, buyers are willing to pay more when they know a car has been properly maintained. Schedule a Professional Detail Aesthetics of a car play a big role in how much a buyer will pay. Cars with foul smells or debris smashed into the upholstery will be difficult to sell. Drivers want to feel like they are buying a new car, even if it is a used car. Scheduling a professional detail can help you clean the hard-to-reach parts of the car. You might choose to deep clean your car yourself. Your detail should include the carpets, windows, center console, and even the trunk. Don't forget to run the car through a car wash and apply a fresh coat of wax to make it shine. The cleaner the car is, the more buyer interest you will have. Get a Vehicle Inspection A lot of people are skeptical when it comes to buying a new car. They worry that the car will break down shortly after they buy it. Alleviate potential buyer's concerns by getting a vehicle inspection ahead of time. That way, you can list out the exact problems with the car. This also allows you to make any minor repairs like brake pads or worn tires that can result in a lower offer price. Make sure you get a vehicle inspection from a trusted mechanic. Telling potential buyers that your friend checked out the vehicle will not get you the trust that you need. It is best to be transparent during the selling process to ensure that everyone knows what they are getting. Take a Great Picture Your car's picture is its first impression. This is the picture that will either encourage buyers to call or to move on to the next available car. While you don't want to falsely portray anything that your car is not, you do want to get a clear picture that shows its value. In many cases, a live video can be useful. This allows you to take the buyer on a walkthrough of the car. By the time they come to view it, they will already have a good idea of what to expect. Selling your car does not have to be overwhelming. Compile your maintenance records, get a thorough cleaning, and schedule an inspection with a mechanic you can trust. Image via pixabay
