AB BBQ is part of A.B. Camping in Cheyenne — an RV park and campground. The park is at 1503 W College Dr., and you can find the barbecue joint across from the main office. You can get a meal here from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on any day except Sundays, when the shop is open for the season.
Meat @ Kennison’s
Meat @ Kennison’s is another casual barbecue option in Cheyenne. You can order a BBQ Bowl, which includes a slow-roasted meat with mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and onions with red BBQ sauce. Your other barbecue entrée options are a Single Plate, a Date Plate, or The Trough. The latter is a family-sized special that includes three eight-ounce portions of beef, pork, or turkey. Windy Peaks Brewery & Steakhouse
Windy Peaks Brewery & Steakhouse is one of the newer options in town, and though it was built with carnivores in mind, you’ll find a couple of options on the menu that are appropriate for vegans. Just know that most appetizers and entrees have meat or cheese, so you might not see many other people here following this diet.
The restaurant has three salads that will work, though you’ll need to hold the shaved parmesan on the grilled Caesar. Spicy fried cauliflower is your best bet for an appetizer, though some will want to hold the side of ranch. Onion rings and fried pickles are also available. Unfortunately, all the desserts at this restaurant have cream as an ingredient. Windy Peaks makes up for it, though, with a full selection of beers and several wine options.
Windy Peaks Brewery & Steakhouse is at 715 9th St. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
