Wheatland Roller Mill Co. Mural
Many of the murals that you’ll see in Wheatland were created by the Platte County Art Guild, and this includes the Wheatland Roller Mill Co. Mural. You can find this mural on the side of a Ninth Street gym. Its purpose is to memorialize a historic flour mill that operated in this community from the late 1800s until 1931.
The Wheatland Roller Mill Co. mural took over 10 years to complete, and it was a collaborative effort from over 35 artists. The mural depicts the exterior of the flour mill, as well as horse-drawn carriages passing in front of the building. Next to the mural is a painted plaque that lists the names of the artists and donors who supported the painting of this mural.
Globe Hotel Mural
The great thing about the murals in Wheatland is that they give a sense of the town’s long and interesting history. For instance, the Globe Hotel mural depicts what was once the center of life in this community. The Globe Hotel was a gathering spot in the community for citizens to discuss important current events, and you can find a mural depicting this historic spot on the corner of Gilchrist and Eighth Streets.

The Bronco mural, which is on the south side of Walnut Street, shows the silhouette of a cowboy riding a bucking bronco. Wheatland Heritage Mural

You can find this mural on the west side of Ninth Street. It depicts a variety of scenes that reflect the pioneer heritage of the Wheatland area.
This mural focuses on the natural beauty that defines Wyoming. You’ll see wide, open plains and lush forests teeming with animals as well as images of the pioneers who founded this state. This large mural is one of the best pieces of art anywhere in Wheatland and is a go-to destination for anyone looking to get a sense of this city’s long history and interesting culture.
